Everything we know about teaching music we learned in Kindergarten

Music teachers often speak of a disconnect with regard to other content areas. Many aspire to have music, art, and movement included in all areas of learning, but they’re not sure how to get things started.
Truth is, it’s as easy as 1,2,3.

1. Make friends
2. Work as a Team
3. Share

Make friends outside of your content area, building and even district. Draft an email summarizing your performance schedule for the year. Include program notes and information that details your program. Work as a Team by offering music content/resources based on the school calendar. Share some specifics in your repertoire to encourage the reinforcement of your content in other classes.
